The Department of Public Health (DPH) and the International Master Program of Public Health (IMPH) of the School of Public Health at China Medical University recently held their joint graduation ceremony on June 7, 2026,bringing together faculty members, graduates, families, and distinguished  guests to celebrate an important milestone in the students’ academic journey.
Among the honored guests were the Saint Lucian Ambassador, H.E. Dr.Robert K. Lewis, and Mrs. Lewis, whose presence added special significance to the occasion.
The Ambassador has consistently demonstrated strong concern for the academic progress and well-being of Saint Lucian students studying in Taiwan. Recognizing the achievements and hard work of the graduates, he made a special effort to attend the ceremony despite his demanding official schedule. His presence reflected not only his commitment to supporting students abroad but also his deep appreciation for higher education and talent development. The Ambassador and Mrs. Lewis’warm encouragement and support deeply touched both students and faculty members, making the
celebration even more meaningful.
During the ceremony, the Ambassador congratulated the graduates on their accomplishments and encouraged them to make full use of the knowledge, skills, and international perspectives they had gained during their studies at China Medical University. He emphasized the importance of public health professionals in addressing global challenges, promoting health equity, preventing diseases, and improving the well-being of communities around the world.
The School of Public Health at China Medical University is dedicated to cultivating public health professionals with global perspectives and interdisciplinary competencies. Through the International Master Program of Public Health, the University attracts talented students from various countries and fosters international academic collaboration and cultural exchange. The Ambassador’s attendance at the graduation ceremony not only recognized the achievements of the program but also highlighted the enduring friendship, cooperation, and diplomatic ties between Taiwan and Saint Lucia.
The ceremony concluded with pleasantries and photos featuring the Ambassador, his spouse, faculty members, graduates, including the sole Saint Lucian graduate enrolled within the IMPH at CMU, Ms. Kurshina St. Prix, creating lasting memories of an event filled with gratitude, friendship, and international goodwill. As the graduates embark on the next chapter of their professional journeys, they carry with them the knowledge, values, and aspirations necessary to become future leaders in global public health.
